Other than taking medicines there are few more things that a diabetic patient should keep in mind and take care of. Below are 16 must follow precautions and tips for diabetes patients. Please follow them and these small steps will help you control your blood sugar level and bring happiness to your life.

1. Make a commitment towards managing your diabetes.

Learn all you can about diabetes. Make healthy eating and physical activity part of your daily routine. Maintain a healthy weight. Monitor your blood sugar, and follow your doctor's instructions for managing your blood sugar level.

2. Remove Sugar and Refined Carbs From Your Diet.

Eating foods high in refined carbs and sugar increases blood sugar and insulin levels, which may lead to diabetes over time. Avoiding these foods may help reduce your risk.

3.  Work Out Regularly.

Performing physical activity on a regular basis can increase insulin secretion and sensitivity, which may help prevent the progression from prediabetes to diabetes.

4. Drink Water and keep yourself hydrated

High blood sugar can reduce blood flow and damage the nerves in your feet. Left untreated, cuts and blisters can lead to serious infections. Diabetes can lead to pain, tingling or loss of sensation in your feet.
